Tämän listan laatiminen käynnistyi siis oikeastaan jo loppuvuodesta 2014, jolloin kuuntelin koko tuotannon kronologisessa järjestyksessä listausta samalla hahmotellen. Keväällä 2015 otin sitten työn alle varsinaisen kirjoittamisen ja löin listasijat lukkoon niin, ettei niitä tarvinnutkaan sitten enää hirveämmin missään vaiheessa vaihtaa. Kaneettina mainittakoon, että ”Streets of Philadelphia” meinasi unohtua, siksi etukäteen mainostettu 55 biisin listaus muuttui 56:ksi loppuhetkillä.

Miksi sitten ei tasakymmenlukuista biisimäärää? Sisäinen fani iski sen verran pintaan, että piti saada jokainen studiolevy edustetuksi näihin kirjoituksiin. ”Devils & Dust” oli sijalla 56 vielä päivää ennen listan aloittamista, mutta lopulta päädyin vaihtamaan sen ja ”The Promisen” paikkaa. Mutta siis, kaikki Springsteenin studioalbumit olivat lopulta edustettuina listalla. Laitetaan tähän vielä jakauma albumeittain:

Itseasiassa tuosta lukumäärästä tulee summaksi 58, sillä kaksi biisiä oli edustettuna kahdelta albumilta: The Ghost of Tom Joad ja Racing in the Street. Hieman yllättävää itselle, että Born in the U.S.A. oli noinkin vahvasti edustettuna. Toisaalta Born to Run sai kärkikahinoihin huomattavasti laajemman osanoton. Laajuutta löytyy Springsteenin tuotannosta kyllä. Yllätyksekseni huomasin myös sen, että The Riverin biisit jäivät kahteen, vaikka kokonaisuus on etenkin tämän vuoden (2016) puolella kohonnut huomattavasti meikäläisen listoilla.
